My story
Design that feels like rest
Good Rest is the name of my own home — an 1892 historic house in Morristown, NJ that I spent years renovating. That experience is where this business began.
How I got here
Good Rest is the name of my own home — an 1892 historic house in Morristown, New Jersey that I spent years renovating from the inside out. I documented every step of that process on a blog, and somewhere along the way, neighbours and friends started asking if I could help with their homes too.
That's how Good Rest Design began. Not in a design school or a corporate firm, but in the middle of a real renovation — pulling up carpet, exposing structural layers, sourcing period-appropriate materials, and learning firsthand what it takes to bring an old house back to life without losing what makes it worth saving.
Today I work with homeowners across New Jersey and New England who are navigating the same kind of projects I lived through: historic homes with good bones, complicated histories, and owners who care deeply about getting it right. No project is too small. What matters is that you have someone in your corner who understands both the building and the process.
What I believe
A few things I hold onto
Homes are personal
There's no universal right answer in design. What works is what works for you — your habits, your history, your way of being in the world.
Slow is better
The best spaces take time to get right. I'd rather help you make one considered decision than ten rushed ones you'll regret in six months.
Expertise should feel like support
I'm not here to impress you with my knowledge. I'm here to make the process feel easier, clearer, and less overwhelming than it would be on your own.
Rest is the goal
A home that looks beautiful but doesn't feel restful has missed the point. Every decision I help you make is in service of that feeling — ease, calm, belonging.

My consulting practice grew directly from renovating my own 1892 historic home in Morristown, NJ — a process I documented in detail over several years. I've since helped homeowners with everything from getting a house cleaned out and market-ready, to full historic renovations, to bringing the right professionals together around a hard budget. I'm based in Morristown and serve clients across New Jersey and New England.
Let's work together
If any of this resonates — the way I think, the way I work — I'd love to hear about your space.
